Many times we follow people on Instagram without thinking much about what we are doing, and when we want to realize we follow thousands of people with whom we do not have any relationship, with content that does not interest us or with any content at all.

With the aim of solving this problem, Instagram is testing a function that would help us choose who to stop following.

The function has not been officially disclosed, but its operation has been seen in a recent tweet by researcher Jane Manchung Wong, which indicates a new feature that will help make it easier for users to choose who to stop following. This is based on the accounts with which we can interact less, and also on the accounts that are not shown as frequently in our feed in the last 90 days.

Instagram, like Facebook and other social networks, shows the content based on an algorithm that decides who to watch and who does not. He decides if some accounts are more important to us than others, and in the same way he can decide those that are not important and that “deserve” to stop being followed.

The idea is to show automatic groups of the type «Less interaction with» so that it is easy to stop following them. You just want to group the accounts we follow to make them easier to manage. This feature will also help to group accounts according to interests such as sports, design, technology, and memes, for example.

We still do not know when this function will be implemented, but we will be attentive to inform.
