Google has confirmed via a blog post that it’s bringing two new features to chrome, one which will make auto-filling payment details on chrome more secure with biometric verification, and another which allows users autofill passwords via a dialogue box.
Previously, auto-filling payment details saved to google accounts required you confirm your CVC number every time before your full card number is auto-filled into a form. But now, you will be able to confirm your identity with your biometric instead of your CVC, although you will still need to confirm with your CVC during initial setups and subsequent times biometric will be all thats needed.
This optional biometric feature can be turned on and off anytime within chrome settings. The feature is already available on Windows and Mac and is coming to Chrome on Android in the coming weeks.
Google is also improving its Android-based password manager with a “touch to fill” feature which makes filling in passwords more continent on Androids via a dialogue box.
