Constantly updated Post: Last updated on March 16, 2019.

We've picked our top phones between the prices of ₦60,000 and ₦80,000 in no particular order

Smartphones are the most important gadget in the life of most people, if you get a phone today, you’ll be living with the one you buy for at least a year. A bit of research before going to a local store is recommended or you’ll easily be swayed into buying a certain product by great commercial or a convincing salesperson. We have done most of the research and handpicked the best smartphones below in no order between ₦60,000 and ₦80,000 you’re likely to encounter if you go shopping online or at your local store.

Infinix Note 8i (64GB + 4GB)

Infinix Note 7 was and is still a good pick if you want it, but if you’re out to buy an Infinix phone at this time of the year then Note 8i is most recommended. These two phones are remarkably similar in a lot of ways but Note 8i brings a slightly better processor, better pricing and…USB type C.

PROS

  • 5200mAh battery
  • Great camera
  • Large display
  • Satisfactory CPU
  • 18W battery charging

CONS

  • Why do we still have 720p displays at this price?

Xiaomi Redmi 9 (64GB/4GB)

Xiaomi Redmi 9 also comes highly recommended by us, just like Note 8i it comes with a great processor, large battery, and price. But. Unlike Noe 8i, it has a full HD display advantage.

CONS

  • No significant downside

Samsung galaxy A21s

Recent survey showed the smartphone giant has a phone at every price range. The A21s is one of Samsung’s representative at this price point. Because they have so many products, it appears laborious for them to compete effectively at across all price options.
The A21s might appear a little pricy when specs to price ratio is considered, especially when compared to other phones on this list. But is a great phone especially for Samsung lovers at this price point which I actually recommend

Display: 6.5 inches

CONS

  • 720p display,

Tecno Camon 16 (64GB/4GB)

Shopping for a Tecno Phone at this price? then Camon 16 is that guy. Although I still don’t understand the rationale behind the pricing for this device, yet the Tecno Camon 16 is a good phone at this price point.

Display: 6.8 inches
Processor: Helio G70
Storage: 64GB + 4GB
Main Camera: 64 MP + 2 MP + 2 MP + QVGA
Selfie: 8MP
Operating System: Android 10.0
Battery: 5000 mAh

PROS

  • Really great cameras
  • 5000 mAH battery
  • 18W fast charging
  • High-resolution video recording

CONS

  • Overpriced
  • 720p display at that price?

Huawei Y7p

US-China trade war’s effect on Huawei makes it difficult to include their phones into these lists. With new Huawei phones, it’s either you get Android 9 with play services or you get Android 10 without play services. Thats really a hard place to find yourself if you’re into Huawei phones.
I learnt there are ways to get Play services for Android 10 Huawei devices, but most users wouldn’t want to go through those dramas, they just want something that works out of the box.
If you can look past these Software limitations, then Huawei Y7p is a pretty good phone.

Display: 6.35 inches
Processor: Kirin 710F
Storage: 64GB + 4GB
Main Camera: 48 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP
Selfie: 8MP
Operating System: Android 9(with play services)
Battery: 4000 mAh

PROS

  • Great camera
  • Decent battery

CONS

  • Stuck with Android 9
  • 720p display

Honourable Mentions

  • Xiaomi Note 9 (64GB/3GB): This phone isn’t on the Honourable mention because it’s worse than the phones above, I still think it’s overall better than some phones above. but for Xiaomi fans, the Redmi 9 is an overall better package and better priced also. But if a bigger screen is your thing, you should be looking closely at this instead.  – ₦76,900
